Waiheke Vineyards

In 1978 the Goldwater family planted the island’s first vineyard. Waiheke Island has now succeeded in gaining international recognition as a producer of elegant and complex red and white wines. Today the island is home to more than 30 wineries. The Waiheke Wine Festival in late January is always worth a visit for any wine buff. Among the wines offered for tasting will be Goldwater Estate's Roseland Marlborough Chardonnay, and Esslin Waiheke Merlot, both critically acclaimed by the New York Wine Spectator Wine Experience.
