Tui - Waiheke
You can see and hear these birds from most dwellings on Waiheke. They love feeding on berry trees and have a distinctive noisy flight with their flapping wings. The Tui has one of the most varieties of song - clicks and whistles of any bird I've heard. With a distinctive cluster of white feathers on its neck and beautiful green emerald blue tinge of colour over its back. Breeding from September to February with 2 to 3 eggs with brown spots. Incubated by female 14 days.
