Bernard Rhodes and Flying Carpet - Waiheke

Meet the bloke who wrote Blokes and Boats, and owns a classic boatshed. He build's boats, fixes boats, re-designs boats, owns a boat, and has lived on a boat. Bernard Rodes is the former skipper of the peace vessel Fri and has built and sailed his own catamaran, Flying Carpet from New Zealand to Japan. Flying Carpet is now a charter vessel. Bernard also teaches boating courses at the local high school. Seen often at the causeway.... probably one of the last frontiers of oldish boats to be seen in New Zealand.
